Well we are finally home! He is doing better. Well we got some answers and I also learned how life is going to be for us. He does not have a diagnosis yet, but we know its a malabsorbtion problem. He can't eat anything dairy, or crabs or anything that has sugar in it. Well the list that they gave me that he is allowed to eat is really ,really small. He has to be on the pump for 20 hrs. A day. He had some test done, but the results won't be in for a couple of weeks. This time around in the hospital I got to talk to some older kids with the same problem as Gabe to see how life has been for them. I also made friends with there parents. There was this one girl named Emily she was our neighbor. She is 11 yrs old. With the same problems as Gabe. She started around the same age as Gabe. Her mom said they have been in and out of the hospital since she was little. Once they get older it takes a toll on there body. Emily ended up having Diabetes and now she is having problems with her kidneys and bones. It's harder when they get older to be in control on what they eat. Also I have to worry about if he catches a stomach virus he needs to be admitted right away. He had lost a little over a pound in a week, but now that we have him on the diet and the pump he is gaining a little. Well he has to be seen on Monday to see how much he has gain. Then he goes back in Nov. Hopefully we get some test results soon. I am still planning on getting a second opinion at A I Dupont hospital in Delaware in Nov. Thank you everyone for your prayers!

Gabe being Admitted

Hello everyone! My youngest son has a chronic illness and he has really taught me how important life is. i always was stressed and sad when my son started getting sick. Going to the hospital every week and sometimes staying there for 2 weeks was just making my mood down. However, watching him be so happy and you could never tell he was sick made me realize we shouldn't be moping around; he doesn't like it when we where sad. It woke me up when we almost lost him in May during surgery. Ever since then I have been loving life and I am more relaxed now. All the negative things that are going on with your life even if it's negative people you should just push it to the side and enjoy happiness. That is what I learned.

Sad Day

Yesterday ( Sep. 8, 2006) I was talking to my friend in Fl and the other line beeps. I answered it and it was my youngest sons GI Dr. He had alot of biopsy's done 2 weeks ago and the results came in. I was not ready to hear what she had to say. She had told me that everything my son needs inorder to live, nutrients he can't absorb. They can't give him a diagnosis because he has mutiple of things going on. They are trying to find out why his body is doing this. he has been sick since dec. now i have lots of different feelings, sad, scared, lost, confused, frustrated, ect.... But he is a very happy child, you wouldn't even know he has some problems. well now i can just pray.
